Losing a limb in a motorcycle crash is rare. So are lightning strikes. Which means that the rare occurrence does occur. Two personal friends of mine had amputations that were a result of motorcycle accidents. Both lost a foot, however, amputation is performed usually below the knee.
Speed may not be an issue. Most accidents occur at around 30 mph on a 30-40 mph road.
Although it is rare, at BIKR LAW I have gained experience representing clients with amputations as a result of a scoot crash. One client was going a mere two miles per hour in a parking lot. Someone pulled out without looking and, when my client lost control of his bike, he was pinned underneath it. His foot was crushed, however, he was lucky, and they were able to save his foot. Surgeons can sometimes work wonders, but unfortunately they cannot always save your foot, your hand, your arm or your leg.

If you're an experienced biker, you know that most accidents are caused by cagers. Some drivers think that, because they're bigger than the bike, they can intimidate the bike into yielding or stopping. The driver will deny fault - but we know better.
As an experienced personal injury attorney who focuses on motorcycle accidents, I know how to act on your behalf and recover all the compensation that is available to you.
If you were in a motorcycle accident and are facing an amputation, please contact BIKR LAW toll free at
